Job Description :
· Responsible for guiding organizational infrastructure standards including network, storage, platforms, and tools regarding client solutions, client integration, product development, and datacenter operations.
· Estimating, solution design and technical writing regarding technical aspects of client RFPs, sales response, and product development initiatives.
· Ownership of process creation and improvement in relation to procurement, quoting, project intake, deployment, and various budgeting and portfolio processes.
· Project management of certain high risk, highly complex internal and external projects as needed.
· Experience with multiple hardware platforms and devices from HP, Dell, Cisco, EMC, Netapp, Oracle, Teradata and other industry standard providers.
· Experience with enterprise software packages in regard to installation, sizing, and integration. Examples include but are not limited to Cognos, SAS BI, Oracle RDBS, SQL server, Informatica, VMware ESX, and WebSphere.
· Responsibility to develop, install, and maintain cost estimating and modeling tools and processes.
Role Purpose
· Work with clients and sales team to gather client requirements
· Analyze client environment and business requirements
· Develop technical solutions that meet client business needs and RFP/RFI requirements
· Develop competitive pricing for technical solutions to support winning proposals
· Write clear, concise, customer friendly descriptions of technical solutions and services
· Develop and present solutions to prospective clients
· Establish an authoritative and credible technical architect presence in new business pursuits
· Define and present bid strategy to various levels of client management team
· Work directly with Strategic Partners to assist in the development of solutions that involve our partners
· Establish relationships with vendors pertaining to technology related to data warehousing including ETL, databases, etc.
Responsibilities
· Continually reviews and suggests improvement to the Data Warehouse processes, policies, and vision and explores new and emerging technologies.
· Leads the investigation and adaptation of beneficial Data Warehouse Architecture technologies and tools.
· Defines strategies and standards for Business Data Integration.
· Contributes in developing transparent and well understood enterprise data governance processes, rules and technologies to support them.
· Define solutions in a complex and diversified business environment to aggregate and integrate data from dozens of sources throughout the enterprise.
· Translates business requirements into data design requirements and subsequent data models.
· Provides expertise in enterprise data and information management methods and standards.
· Drives the business requirement and associated review sessions into effective data integration.
· Guides world class data expertise and knowledge regarding customer, product, organization and associated data across the enterprise.
· Collaborates with business units, data owners and IT to successfully implement enterprise solutions.
· Identifies and promotes best practices for data modeling within information areas across the organization, providing oversight for all activities related to data cleansing, data quality and data consolidation using industry standard data modeling methods and processes.
· Ensures that operational and analytical data warehouses are able to support all business requirements for business reporting across the organization.
· Displays demonstrated ability in communicating the overall customer data architecture to both technical and business constituencies.
Skills :
· At least 10 years of Data Center experience working with networking, storage, computer platforms
· 2 years of system administration experience (Unix and/or Windows)
· Exceptional relational DBMS and SQL skills.
· 5 years experience with one or more of the following database engines: (Teradata, Netezza, Oracle, SQL Server) and/or experience with one or more of the following ETL tools: (SAS, Informatica, Datastage, Ab Initio).
· 3 years of experience working with external customers
· 3 years of experience working with hardware vendors. Examples include IBM, Oracle, Sun, etc.
Certification/Education :
· Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
